FULL OF ENERGY
The time has arrived for Seventeen's energy to explode once again.
Q: You're having a comeback after 7 months. It might seem like a short time, but it's longer compared to the current trend (of idol comeback schedules).
MINGYU: We've been working a lot in the past seven months, so it felt like time just flew by -- but hearing that we're having a comeback after seven months, it does sound like it's been a long time. So I'm a bit nervous.
Q: It's a time where SEVENTEEN is expanding around the world. Does it ever come to you that you've done a great job?
MINGYU: It's fascinating. To be honest, it's amazing how people who speak a different language and don't know Korean would know who SEVENTEEN is and listen to SEVENTEEN's songs.
Q: How much do you think each of you contributes to that (SEVENTEEN's) unity?
MINGYU: I think I contribute 100. But it's not like 100 is divided among the 13 of us, but more like each person contributes 100(%) to have 1300(% of unity).
JEONGHAN: I have so much love for Seventeen, but if you ask me what I (specifically) contribute to Seventeen's unity, I don't really know.
MINGYU: That love contributes to that unity.
Q: Everyone has grown up a lot.
MINGYU: We've also fought just as much as that (as they've grown). Even now too, we still have fights/arguments.
Q: You're a self-producing team. There must be roles that everyone plays when creating music.
MINGYU: Woozi and Bumzu are the main producers and writers, and the rest of the group would constantly be helping around the minor stuff, and would also be throwing around ideas. Anyway, it would be regretful if someone doesn't like (what they're creating) so we just say what/how we think.
Q: Any examples of when members' ideas were reflected on SEVENTEEN's music?
MINGYU: While making beats in the studio, someone would just casually throw it comments like 'would it be better if it's more upbeat?' and it would really reflect (in the end product).
Q: What's your favourite part in 'HIT'?
MINGYU: I really like my part-- '이젠 우리 차례' . I like how it has the feeling of having full of aspirations like 'from here on, we we will show you (what we can do)'.
Q: Can we say that there is a consideration for the listener, and for the general public? What do you think about having popularity among the general public (when releasing songs)?
MINGYU: We would also like to think that we are the public. If we liked it when we listened to it, then it's good; if it got us excited, then it's an exciting song.
Q: But are your bodies okay? When watching SEVENTEEN's stages, it feels like at least something would break. It's like either someone's body (t/n: interviewer direct trans is bones will crush lol) or the stage will break.
MINGYU: If it's like that then wouldn't it be better if the stage breaks? (laughs)
MINGYU: To be honest, I do get scared before I go up on stage. I do know it's hard, But from the moment I step on the stage, I work/do it so hard to the point that I don't remember any of that (fear). At the least, we want to put more energy into the performance than the effort that the audience put in to come to the concert/wherever we're performing. Oh, I was so cool just now. How was I able to say that?
JEONGHAN: I think it would've been cooler if you didn't say that. (t/n: mingyu's self compliment lol)
